Although Elissa's background consisted of painting in the traditional portraiture method, she has since transitioned to creating large-scale mixed media portraits of women who are making contributions to society. These paintings are designed for public institutions and community spaces.
Elissa's primary objective is to paint what she believes in and what she feels is relevant to our society such as keeping an open mind & a giving heart while interacting with and relating to one another. The women she highlights in her paintings are living examples of what she perceives as providing extraordinary contributions to American society.
